After hitting 4:00.97 indoors, nobody has come that close to a sub-4 since. DJ Principe (La Salle Academy, RI) entered the Millrose Mile to follow in the footsteps of Drew Hunter, but perhaps with the bulk of racing done in a short period of time, he came up just short. He would go on to run 4:00.73 outdoors in the Prefontaine Mile, once again coming tantalizingly close.
