Perfect Conditions Produce Prime Competition - Full McQuaid Recap

Boys A

Individuals

Breakdown: Bigger competition seemed to do the trick for Mike Peppy, who now has claimed wins at both McQuaid and Pre-States. In one of the most loaded invites for small schools heading into the state meet, Peppy proved Class C or Class D competition could be handled in stride. Peppy lead from the first mile, and the field wasn't able to come back on him. Owen Walker had a battle of his own against an athlete from Pennsylvania, and was able to pull out the runner-up finish.

Teams

Breakdown: A school best known for its female competitors, most notable Kennedy Weisner at No. 5 all-time on this course, Elk Couny Catholic came and produced a strong performance, noted by the only team compression under one minute, while still having a top-five finisher. They lead a Pennsylvania sweep of the top two spots on the podium, but it was Watkins Glen leading the way for New York.
