With the start of the season mere weeks away, there is no better time to contextualize what we may see happen in the coming season. New York Cross Country in it's current form, has been around for nearly 75 years, and along the way, certain "Streaks" have emerged. Some of them good, some of them bad, each one with it's own historical significance.
We take a look at seven of the State's most impressive streaks, and as with any good story, the challengers looking to break them.

Section 3 has won either an individual title, or team title at States for the past 44 consecutive years.
Fayetteville-Manlius has 11 straight State titles, besting the former record of 6 from teams from Saratoga, Bronxville, and East Aurora. They are now chasing the "total titles" record, held by Saratoga Girls at 14, and Beaver River Boys at 15.
