Girls 1000m
It's double duty for Nyjari McNeil (Franklin, MD). Although she holds the Facility Record for 600m, of which she is entered in again this year, her name also appears at the top of the seeds for the 1000m. Here, she'll find her fiercest competition, as several other athletes are well capable of hitting 3mins or under. Chief among them is Shalah Means (Benjamin Cardozo), who has hit 3mins on the nose the previous year. Freshman Nikki Vanasse and junior Avery Schiffman (Pingry) are two teammates who enter as unknowns. Vanasse is coming of XC season, taking 6th in the Frosh Section of Foot Locker Northeast. Rounding out the top will be Keiana Mitchell (Notre Dame Academy), who has a 3:03.86 personal best to her name.
