This Year's Outlook |
Stuyvesant
just edged out Midwood for last year's PSAL title, but this year with
four of last year's top 5 back, the Peglegs appear to have a huge gap
over the rest of the teams at the start of the year. Kiyan Tavanangar
who lost a close finish-stretch battle to Curtis's John Akakeya for 1st
in the PSAL last year is back and should be well supported by top-20 guy
senior Harvey Ng and a few younger guys who should be moving up this
year. And though a few runners may find it tough to run under the
universally accepted Stuyvesant mascot name (Wikipedia and noted sports
info sites all agree that Peglegs is what the Stuy guys are), as the XC
saying goes, "Pain is temporary, but Pegleg pride lasts forever." |
