At last year's State Meet, Sammy Watson put on a clinic in the 400m, setting a new meet record. In what may be her last 400m of the season, as she refocuses on getting the Olympic Trials Standard in the 800m (she is only .06 off, after running 2:03.06 last week), we could see something special yet again. Watson has made it known she wants to be in the 51sec territory, and few girls can hang with that speed. One who can is Amanda Crawford, who split 52secs indoors for the relay, but will need a breakthrough in her last race in-state to stay in contention. The D2 race is as close as ever, with too many names to pick just one. Emily Cluck is your top seed here, and could break onto the Federation Medal Stand as well. | |||||
