National Records and National Leaders Fall At 2015 Bishop Loughlin Games

Girls Sprints

55HH

Highlights

The State Leader remains undefeated, as Paula Salmon (Clara Barton) takes on two of the best in the city in the form of Alyssa Sandy (Paul Robeson), and Shayla Broughton (Medgar Evers).  While slightly off her season best of 8.02 in her debut, Salmon pulled the filed to the deepest race in the nation.

55m

Highlights

While it hardly could be called a surprise, as both are equally talented, going 1-2 at States last year, Halle Hazzard (St. Anthony's) overtook Lanae Tava-Thomas (Rush-Henrietta) in the final for the 55m dash.  Both were personal bests for the athletes, and both held significance.  Halle Hazzard now moves to US #2 for 2015, while Lanae Tava-Thomas is NY #3 All-Time for Sophomores in the 55m, only 0.01seconds off tying the State Record.

300m

Highlights

Amanda Crawford (Robeson) takes a big leap up the All-Time list with her own personal best.  Despite running in the "slow" section of the final, Crawford pulled away from the strong field, capturing the win by half a second.

Highlights

Some mismatching in the seeding of the heats left open a wide gap for Nyjari McNeil (Franklin, MD), who ran away with the win in the 4th overall heat, bringing a title back to Maryland.
