State of the Action
Annie Heffernan didn't come all the way from Ohio to lose, but defending champ Danae Rivers wasn't going to give it up easy.  The pair pushed eachother through the early stages of the race, spreading the field.  In third, Sage Hurta takes home NY #1 in the event with her 4:52.  But the biggest story may have been 7th grader Katelyn Tuohy, who takes down Mary Cain's Class State Record in the event by almost 5 seconds.  Not a bad indicator of future performance.
