Girls Field

Spotlight

Horizontal Jumps

Marie-Josee' Ebwea-Bile (Cardozo) was the talk of the town Indoors, and is the favorite in both of the jumps, capable of over 20' and 40' respectively in each. In the Long Jump, she'll have Sara Kaye-Freedman (Taft) to deal with, who is close enough at 18-7 to snatch the win.

In the triple jump, Kellyanne James (Weequahic, NJ) is the next closest competitor, at 38-7

Vertical Jumps

Neve Devine (Port Washington) is your top seed, hitting 5-6 to take 4th at States last year, but will have the 5-5 talents of Bridget Van Dorsten (Staples, CT) to deal with.

Erin Leahy (Warwick) and Maddy Luksha (Ursuline) are the only girls over that 10-foot bar, and will make the competition close.

Throws

The Shot Put looks to be Kristina Insigno (Holy Trinity) versus the masses from New Rochelle. Add in Grayce French (Saratoga), and Serena Dixson (Red Bank Regional, NJ), and you have several athletes over the 40-foot barrier.

Look for a strong battle between Alva Hicks (Classical, RI) and Insigno in the Discus, as both have hit 147

Hicks is the top seed in the Hammer Throw by far, but Monae Cooper (New Rochelle) is no slouch herself, sure to get the state lead.

Olivia Weiner (Staples, CT) is your top seed in the Javelin, well over 100-ft.
