Millrose Trials Allows Relays, Ritz To Run Free

State of the Action: As expected, Mady Clahane (Cumberland Valley) took home top honors in the Mile, although the winning margin wasn't excessive. Rachel Suss (Metuchen, NJ) stayed in contention, edging closer and closer to her personal best. Clahane will return to the Millrose Games as the fields top returner, after taking 4th place the year prior.

State of the Action: It was a big day in the circle for the weight throw, as Monae Cooper (New Rochelle) finally sent one over the 51-foot line. Her winning mark puts her as NY #1 in the event, and will look to challenge for a State Title, in an event that has never been contested before at the State Level.

State of the Action: Everyone knew Jazmine Fray (Kellenberg) was going to burst onto the scene soon. The second place finisher over 1000m at the State Meet (by less than a fraction of a second) anchored the Kellenberg SMR to the win. It was a leg they needed, as Saint Anthony's had pulled away in the preceding 200m leg. But Fray would drop a 2:13.02 800m mark, to regain the lead, and solidify the win. If that 800m run has been run open, Fray would be the new US Leader. She'll settle with a ticket, to the Millrose Games.

State of the Action: Originally not the on the entry lists, Benjamin Cardozo was an unexpected turn up on the starting line. But turn up they did, clocking a new US #1, the first under 3:50 for the 2015 season. With two new additions to the team with PR's into the 54's and 55's, it was only a matter of time before a quick time was thrown down. Cardozo, known more recently as a distance-based relay squad, could see the sprint relays return to focus. And it would come at a better time, as both Paul Robeson and Medgar Evers are finely tuned racing machines, both of which now find themselves as US #2 and #3.
