State of the Action: Remember when Shaker had been the only NY team to ever win Easterns at Manhattan.  Well, New York made up for it, sweeping the top three slots over defending champ CBA.  As for CBA of NJ, it must be reinforced that they did not run badly.  The speed ratings indicate that they had performed about equal to that of their 2011 performance, which would precede their national title.  However, indicated by their fourth place finish, the trio from New York are running at an otherworldly level.  Race winners Fayetteville-Manlius now has three athletes who have hit 190 or better in the ratings, the top end of that spectrum knocking on 200's door.  Liverpool is rounding back into form, sharpened by the razors edge of being league rivals with FM.  St. Anthony's popped up by demolishing the field in PA the same weekend as McQuaid, and has backed up their claim again here.  FM smashed the 5-Man course average by 12 seconds, lowering it to 12:32.7, while St. Anthony's did the same to the former CHSAA 5-man Average record.  Liverpool has shown that their number 2 could have been further up in a smaller field, and goes to reinforce that the state meet will be decided at the Section 3 Class A championships.
