History Being Made in the Present at the Manhattan Invitational

Boys Overall

State of the Action: Despite the conditions, this race was fast.  How fast?  The first 14 athletes broke into the Top 100 All-Time for the course.  Leading that pack was Alex Ostberg, who challenged an impressive course record held by the legendary Edward Cheserek.  Not only was Ostberg only the second person to ever break 12 minutes on the course, he becomes the first CT champion in the Eastern States race.  Behind him was a charging Bryce Millar, who took over his former teammate Nick Ryan's record of being the fastest loser in Manhattan History.  Edwin Rutto of New Jersey rounded out the east coast attack on the record, hailing from the same school as King Cheserek himself.
