Wappingers Falls, NY - There were plenty of qualifiers over the past weekend, and Section 1 provided some of the biggest matchups. Close calls for some, tight team races for others, the road to the state meet is never easy. Check out some of that action below.

Girls Class A
Defending Section 1 Champ Bella Burda (Arlington) led up the hill, but fellow sophomore Anna Flynn (Ursuline) overtook the reigned Fed Champ down.

Girls Class B
The matchup between Rockland rivals Kelly Hayes and Erin Jaskot worked out well for each. Jaskot took home the individual crown, while Hayes brought home the team title

In one of the most anticipated matchups of the season, Pearl River overtook JJ-CR on the 6th person tiebreaker. The road doesn't open up for the pirates, as the Sectional Merge suggest States may be just as close!

Bronxville won the race in style, taking the top three spots across the line. The race was lead by Courtney Campbell.

Brian Cook of Pearl River, took a relaxed run through Bowdoin to solidify his bid to the state meet. Look for his return to the course that broke him out as a National force to be a quick one.

John Flannery had been running well all season, and his win here puts him as the key competitor for the title against Jeriqho Gadway in Class C.
