Calhoun | 8 | NA | No results this year | Toner, Landi, Curran, Lahood
North Babylon | 11 | NA | No results this year | Moran, Schmid, Coyle |
Perry's Rationale and Wrapper: | Coming in 3rd at Bowdoin and getting outscored 15-112 might not seem like good results for high-flying Northport, but that can happen when you run against the top team in the nation, CBA-Lincroft and its 186 TR. But the weekend in NY belonged to Arlington with a big win in the deepest race at Queensbury. Rush-Henrietta had a strong win at GCC Cougar, and Saratoga and Warwick both had strong 2nds to round out the top 6. A number of schools at GCC seemed to be just getting in a mild warmup for McQuaid, and some consideration is given to that fact and to the still inactive schools as noted in the watch list. Fayetteville-Manlius likely stays in top spot until Manhattan unless we see a team knock off a national superpower.
Kyle's Comments: | While Arlington makes a jump up to #2, there is still a question as to whether they can challenge FM. The gap between them is lessening as time goes on, as their pack may be able to produce a tighter finish between the five than the Hornets. While Rush-Henrietta does move up, the GCC invite results had to be adjusted, as many teams were saving themselves for important league meets in the days closely after. |

20 | Glens Falls | 2 | 148.2 | 13th in Queensbury-1 | Lee, Collins |
Perry's Rationale and Wrapper: | There was a lot of movement in Class B once teams starting running in their debut races. East Aurora continues to lead at top, and Pittsford-Mendon, Brighton, and Franklin Academy have settled in right behind as expected. But Cornwall was a surprise with a huge 3rd place finish at Queensbury behind the giants, and Tappan Zee also impressed with a 5th there.
Kyle's Comments: | A lot of the Class B questions may be answered after this weekend, as the top 4 teams will all be running at the McQuaid Invite. After a slow start, Tappan Zee has positioned itself back in the running for Section 1 Class B. Also to watch will be Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons, whose Lange brothers have yet to make an appearance. |

20 | Schuylerville | 2 | 130.8 | 4th in Queensbury-2 | Watson |
Perry's Rationale and Wrapper: | Collegiate remains far ahead at top, but Fonda-Fultonville and Pawling are set for a familiar rivalry and Rhinebeck, Trumansburg, Hannibal, Alden, and Friends Academy providing a good cross-sectional competition. Tully and Adirondack are looking to get into the action for the usual 3-C rhubarb.
Kyle's Comments: | Collegiate will return to competition this week at the faster course of Great Adventure, to see if they can jump back in the top 10 overall. Pawling competed well at Warwick, and Fonda-Fultonville looks to pull away from Section 2 competitors. |
Boys Class D | |||||
Rank | Team | Section | TR Avg. | Last Week's Action | Top Runners |
1 | Mount Academy | 9 | 156.4 | 2nd in Warwick-2 | Wareham, Meier, Baird, Thomson |
2 | Beaver River | 3 | 141.6 | 1st in New Hartford-D2 | Hall, Cobb, Neddo |

4 | Barker | 6 | 136.6 | 1st in Queensbury-2 | Bender, Moeller, Cruz |
5 | Greenwich | 2 | 136.8 | 2nd in Queensbury-2 | Spezio, Hansen |
6 | Sauquoit Valley | 3 | 132.4 | Inactive | Spina, Gleba |
7 | Ticonderoga | 7 | 131.4 | 22nd in Queensbury-1 (minus Silliman) | Silliman, Nazir, Belden |
8 | Mekeel Christian | 2 | 132.0 | Inactive | Urys, R. Murphy, C. Murphy |
9 | Weedsport | 3 | 129.0 | 9th in Baldwinsville-Small | Baker |
10 | Campbell-Savona | 5 | 125.4 | 1st in GCC Cougar-3 | Pearl, Rosko, C. Luta, Rexford, E. Luta |
Perry's Rationale and Wrapper: | A small Hudson Valley environmental school provided the biggest eye-popper of the week in NY by opening the season in 2nd at Warwick. Mount Academy has a gigantic edge in Class D, and is followed by traditional powers Beaver River, Maple Grove, and Barker, with Greenwich also moving in for the action.
Kyle's Comments: | Mount Academy, traditionally comprised of members who WOULD have gone to Warwick Valley, may have found their edge this week. After a strong finish at Warwick and a local league meet, they have officially topped their charts. Beaver River and Maple Grove are neck-and-neck right behind, as the perennial favorites find new competition. |
