NSIC Day Three: Virginia Highlights Mar 13, 2005

The Lake Braddock track squad concluded an excellent weekend for the Bruins as they picked up two additional All-American honors on Sunday to finish the meet with a total of five All-American performances. The Lake Braddock girls\' 4x800 meter relay (9:17.83) posted the state\'s fastest time of the season en route to a national runner-up finish in New York.

On Friday, March10, 2000, we plugged in a two-foot ethernet cord in the communications closet at the New York Armory, and PennTrackXC.com was on the internet.

3/13-Simon Gratz, North Penn, West Catholic, Latavia Thomas set new PA State Indoor Records at NSIC Mar 13, 2005

Running most of the race in 3rd through 5th, the North Penn boys ran an amazing race start to finish, coming up strong to take 3rd in 7:49.16. And the Simon Gratz posted their best time ever, setting a new 4x200 state record of 1:27.13. Unfortunately, they took 2nd, and it took a national record of 1:26.09 by Long Beach Poly to do it. Gratz\' time is the 4th best all-time. West Catholic\'s girls beat the five-year old 3:45.07 record of William Penn in the 4x400, going 3:41.96. And Latavia Thomas of West Catholic bettered her own 800 state record of 2:08.47 with her first place 2:07.10.

NSIC Day One: Virginia Highlights Mar 11, 2005

On the first day of events at the National Scholastic Indoor Championships held at the Armory in New York City, the Lake Braddock High School track squad was able to garner three All-American performances, while several other Virginian relays and individuals had strong performances including a national runner-up performance by the Manchester girls in the 4x55 shuttle hurdle relay.

NSIC Day Two: Virginia Highlights Mar 12, 2005

On day two at NSIC, Western Albemarle junior Ashley Early earned All-American honors with a national runner-up finish in the pole vault, while Potomac Senior\'s Kharya Brown has set herself up to have two opportunities to earn All-American honors in Sunday\'s finals by advancing out of the final preliminary rounds of the 60 and 200 meter dash.

3/13-Latavia Thomas wins electrifying 800 at NSIC in 2:07.10 US#2 Mar 13, 2005

In a strategic race run at a fast past from the gun, Latavia Thomas of West Catholic bided her time, moving to the top three with 500 to go before unleashing a kick with about 125 meters to go, posting a US#2 2:07.10, missing Joetta Clark\'s junior record by just half a second.

Niehaus Wins NIC Two-Mile Mar 13, 2005

Spring Valley junior Kate Niehaus finished first in the Nike Indoor Championships two-mile today. Niehaus crossed the line in 10:31.87 with North Dakota\'s Krista Anderson right behind Niehaus in 10:32.14.

Simon Gratz splits from their three all-American relays @ NSIC Mar 24, 2005

The Simon Gratz boys had a great indoor season, at one point, leading the nation in the three sprint relays, the 4x200, 4x400 and Sprint Medley. In New York at the National Scholastic Indoor Championship March 11-13, they faced their toughest competition of the season, and came away with two 2nd\'s and a 4th, for three all-American awards.
