      (Rain Date: Sunday, March 28, 2010 - 1:00 PM)
We are pleased to invite you to the 25th Annual Blanford Co-Ed Relays. This year, we look forward to another great meet for boys and girls to compete together, cheer on each other, and win some medals. The meet is open to all schools in Section I. If you do not have either boys’ or girls’ enrolled in your school (eg. Iona Prep, Ursuline), you may combine schools to form a co-ed team. In an effort to promote more participation this year, all teams may enter a “B” relay team that will be non-scoring.
A competitor may compete in two (2) events and the order in all relays is boys then girls, with the exception of the 3200 and 6400 meter relays. No team scoring will be kept. Individual medals will be given to the first three teams in each class. When there are two or more heats in an event, winners will be determined by time. The National Federation of State High School Association’s rules will govern all competition.
The order of events:

                  - Shuttle Hurdles Relay (explanation on enclosed sheet)

      - Shot Put Relays

- Discus Relays

- High Jump Relays

- Long Jump Relays

      - Triple Jump Relays

                  - 3200 Meter Relays (Girl’s leg first)

                  - 400 Meter Relays

                  - 6400 Meter Relays (Girl’s leg first)

      - Class A schools and ½ Class B schools

                  - 6400 Meter Relays (Girl’s leg first)

      - Class C/D schools and ½ Class B schools

      - Class B winners will be determined by time

                  - 800 Meter Relays

            - 1600 Meter Relays

In the past, our meet has received financial support from donations of friends and organizations who shared the love Doc Blanford had for track and field as well as his strong feelings for athletic opportunities for young men and women. While these donations have helped to keep costs down, we still must ask for an entry fee of $ 200.00 per school for all events or $ 50.00 per event.
