IMPORTANT NEW ENTRY INFORMATION
This year will have a problem with obtaining insurance that does not require athletes having to sign a waiver to compete. Since we are an outside agency (not a school district) this requirement could not be avoided. This being the case, every athlete that competes at the Suffolk Coaches Invitational MUST have a signed waiver. I know this is going to be an inconvenience for you and your athletes, but we thought it would be better than canceling the meet.
The waiver can be found on the link below. Please print it out and distribute it to your team. It is also posted on the MileSplit event page for the meet. When you arrive at Sunken Meadow please have a waiver for every athlete that is on your bus that day and hand them in when picking up your packet. You will be asked to sign a statement that says there is a waiver for everyone of your athletes competing that day. Hopefully, next year we will be able to avoid this problem by having a school district secure insurance.
We are sending this out well in advance to give you a full week or so to secure the waivers. If you no longer want to attend the Suffolk Coaches Invitational, please let us know so that we can remove your team from the MileSplit entry system. Please email Jim Christian at jimchr440@gmail.com

Suffolk Coaches Cross Country Invitational
Welcome to all that are looking to run at a very scenic but challenging course close to the Long Island Sound at Sunken Meadow State Park. The course has a variety of terrains. It starts with a flat three-quarter of a mile stretch that takes athletes both around and over water. From that point on the course turns hilly. First it is up and down Snake, a loop around the picnic area, and then a long gradual hill building up to the legendary Cardiac Hill. After running through a short back meadow, it's a relief to be finally running down hill through the picnic area to enter the Mouse Hole. This takes you back around the Moat and a flat sprint to the finish. When you are done, you can walk along a beautiful beach to recover.
Outstanding runners from the past that have run this course at this meet include: Katherine Lee, Laura Whitney, Christine Curtin, Emily Lipari, Laura Cummings, and Jillian Mastroianni. All local runners that were Foot Locker All-Americans. On the boys side: Joe Greene, Tom Woods, Joe Hopkins, Kevin Hogan, Brian Dalpiaz, Ryan Sheridan, Kyle Merber, Kevin Krause, and Kal Lewis. All of these young men from Section XI were either State Class A Champions or multiple State Class winners. A great course to test your strength, endurance, and speed. Come join us on September 28th, 2024.
