55th Annual McDaniel-Baxter Cross Country Invitational 2023

We hope you are able to join us for what should be a great day of racing on the hills and trails at Chenango Valley High School. This year's events will begin with the 2nd Annual Rebecca Mercik Make Your Own Sunshine Run/Walk in memory of our former athlete. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Rebecca Mercik Scholarship fund. There will also be a Warrior kids fun run prior to the awards ceremony.

9:35am- Mod Boys Race, 2K

9:45am- Mod Girls Race, 2K

10:00am- Varsity Girls Race, 4K

10:30am- Varsity Boys Race, 4K

10:55am- JV Boys Race, 4K

11:25am- JV Girls Race, 4K

11:55am- Warrior Kids Fun Run

12:00pm- Awards Ceremony

POINTS OF EMPHASIS

1. Our course is constantly changing as we adapt to weather, routes, and our new capital project construction. The final course will be emailed prior to event and will of course include our famous hills! We have lots of construction happening at the HS, so the course will be slightly different than last year.
2. The distance for all high school races is 4K(2.49 miles) and 2K for Modified.
3. Varsity races have a maximum of 10 entrants and a minimum of 7 (unless your program does not have 7 athletes who are competitive at the varsity level).  
4. Larger schools are encouraged to enter up to 10 runners in the varsity boys race to help reduce the size of the JV boys race.
5. Individual awards will be handed out in chute.
6. The Warrior Kids Fun Run is open to all kids 5th grade and under and there is no prior registration needed to run this.

AWARDS

Team:

1. Varsity Races: The top Class A/B schools, top Class C schools, and top Class D schools will each receive a team plaque.
2. JV Races: the top large school (A/B) and top small school (C/D) will receive a team plaque.
3. Modified Races: the top large school (A/B) and top small school (C/D) will receive a team plaque.

Individual:

1. All races- Meet Sticker for places 1-50.
2. Varsity Races: Medal for the top 25 finishers; T-shirts for places 1-10.
3. JV Races: Medal for the top 15 inishers; T-shirts for places 1-5.
4. Modified Races: T-shirts for places 1-5.

Special:

1. A team award for the school who runs the fastest combined time based on the following: Combined time of your top boy and top girl in the Varsity races Combined time of your top boy and top girl in the JV races

NOTES OF INTEREST

1. A concession stand will be available for athletes and spectators.
2. T-shirts will be available for purchase at $20 for regular and $25 for sport

INVITATIONAL ENTRY FEE

The cost of this invitational is $150.00 per school for all races or $45.00 per race.
