Albany County Champs 2022

The 51st Albany County Kiwanis Cross Country Meet

Dear Coaches,The Albany County Kiwanis XC Meet has been a fall tradition for 50 years now.

Joe Becker and I have taken over as Meet Supervisors with the retirement of Tom Greene. We hope you join us for the 51st edition this fall sponsored by The Albany Kiwanis Club. New for 2022: the meet will be NOW held at New Scotland Town Park on an abbreviated course. The date has been set for Friday, October 21, 2022. A course map will be emailed as we get closer.

We will be scoring the meet using Hy-tek with Lisa Paparone. We will no longer be rotating the responsibilities for scoring/timing and hosting the meet. Instead, please send a small registration fee ($25/team) to Joe Becker at Voorheesville HS (432 New Salem Rd. Voorheesville, NY 12186). Coach Becker has generously offered to secure the park, mark the course, rent Port-a-Johns, and coordinate course marshals on the day of the event. I am taking care of the awards.

Schools from the Suburban Council are asked to use your bibs from the Dual Meet season. All other schools will receive bibs on the day of. Thanks!

Additional notes about New Scotland Town Park:

• BusDriverswilldropoffattheentranceandthenparkatthesatellitefields(491NewSalem Rd). Parents/spectators can park on-site. They do not have to travel to a satellite lot like the Blackbird Meet. Parking attendants will assist with directing traffic.

• Please Clean Up Your Team Area Before Leaving. Carry In - Carry Out.

• Please use the Port-A-Johns that are on site. There are no park bathrooms.

• The course will have several course marshals and be marked with painted arrows and flags.
