Course Changes
The Varsity/JV course has been altered from last year. It will still feature a lot of the same challenging sections of wooded trails, however, we eliminated a northern section of trail and re-routed the course over fields and through the same trail used during the first mile. What was originally a 3.07 mile course is now an even 3.0 miles.
The Modified/Freshmen course has remained the same (1.5 miles) with the exception of a few small tweaks as noted on the course map. Updated course maps will be posted to MileSplit by Thursday evening and hard copies will be provided in your meet packets.
New Timing SystemThis year, we are pleased to announce that we will be using Fulton Accurate Timing's automated chip timing system, allowing for live results online. Each athlete must wear their shoe chip during their race. Coaches should collect their athletes' shoe chips and return them to the finish line by the end of the meet. Schools will be charged by the timing company for lost chips ($20 per chip).
Starting LineThere will be no box assignments this year at the starting line. Instead, teams will line up in alphabetical order beginning at the backstop and spreading across the soccer field, towards the trees.
Meet PacketsMeet packets will be handed out on each bus as you enter the parking lot. Any unclaimed packets will be brought to the T-shirt table near the concession stands by 9 A.M. before the start of the first race. Contents of the meet packet includes:
- Athletes' race bibs and timing chips for shoes
- Order of Events
- List of participating schools (indicating Small Schools Division)
- Team Scoring and Awards
- Copies of our new course maps
Parking for Buses
After dropping off your team at Byram Hills High School, we ask that all buses park at Coman Hill Elementary School, 558 Bedford Rd., Armonk NY, about 1 mile away. We suggest exchanging phone numbers with your bus driver so they can return to pick up your team once your races are over. If a coach is driving their own school van, we will allow you to park in the high school campus parking lot.
Concessions and T-ShirtsWe will have food trucks on site for the duration of the meet, as well as a t-shirt for sale at a table next to the concession stands.
No Pets Allowed!Byram Hills High School has a strict no pets policy. Please tell your athletes' parents not to bring dogs to the meet. They will be asked to leave!
WarmupsOur course opens at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Coaches and athletes will not be allowed on the course prior to that time. After races begin at 9:20 a.m., the track will be open to your athletes for their warmups. We ask that all athletes please use this space only so as not to interfere with the races.
The weather looks great for Saturday: partly sunny with a high of 66!
Sincerely,
