Villanova returned to action on Friday night at the New York Armory to compete in the NYC Gotham Cup, in which the Wildcats won three events and registered 10 new postseason qualifying marks. Villanova split up its three wins between one individual running event, one field event and one relay.

In its return to action the Villanova men's track & field team picked up a victory in the distance medley relay and had a number of strong performances at the Gotham Cup, held at the New York Armory on Friday afternoon and evening. Among the individual highlights for the Wildcats included sophomore Samuel Ellison (Dresher, Pa.) winning his heat of the 1000 meters.

While a number of Fordham track & field athletes were on their way to New Haven, Connecticut for Saturday's Yale Invitational, another portion of the team was at the Armory Track & Field Center for Friday's NYU Gotham Cup. Overall, the Rams posted five top 15 finishes and three season-best marks.
