MileSplit HQ - We're pulling double duty on this Wednesday morning. We have our usual new article for the day, but we also have meet coverage this afternoon. Craziness, I know. Check it out below.
Rankings In The Morning
How They Work: We've taken our rankings, the deepest in the state and country, and scored every mark as if it were a virtual meet. We've used championship scoring, ie 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. We've included every event that scores at the state meet, except for racewalk, because some sections do not contest the event. Below are those results. **I've also included a virtual meet for Sunday's Westchester County Meet, simply because that is where I am located at the moment, and it is of interest.

Westchester County Meet: Boys / Girls
Millrose Trials In The Evening
The fields are filled, and the anticipation is palpable. For those expecting a slow and steady, tacticle race for the Invite Miles, don't bet on it. Two automatic spots are up for grabs, and they won't go easy. For the boys, top seeds include Ben Malone of NJ (4:07) and Kris Moran of North Babylon (4:15). Jay Navin of Saratoga is the fastest entry this year, blasting a 4:19 at the Hispanic Games, alone in his heat. Sibby Hanson of Arlington is entered as well, and may play a key role in how the race plays out. Hanson has already qualified for Millrose, and essentially, has nothing to lose. That means he can set the pace, pulling everyone to a fast time. Will be interesting to see it play out.
For the girls, it may not go out any slower. Pennsylvania is sending over three worthy contenders, Kennedy Weisner, Sara Sargent, and Marisa Sheva. Regan Anderson of Tatnall DE is another threat coming from out-of-state. As for in-state, you have two XC state champions entered, Megan Reilly of Warwick, and Megan Young of Nanuet. Holly Cavalluzzo of Valley Central and Bella Burda of Arlington are both also known for the speed over the longer distances. And like I mentioned yesterday, my dark horse bet is on Kristiane Width (UNIS), who has shown she can throw down a solid performance whenever needed.
We'll have the live feeds up for you when they come up, but as always, we'll be tweeting all the action, right here on MileSplit NY. Also, check out the full, updated seeds right here.
