Event Info: 2011 Winner: Klarissa Ricks (Holy Names) 7.01, State Record: 6.82, State Qualifier Mark: 7.44
Statement: Anything can happen in the 55 meter dash.  The margin of error is so small, that a misplaced step can lead to a lost race.  This year, 4th seed Kimberly Bailey put everything together well to secure the win.

Statement: With US #1 Kadecia Baird false starting in the semi-final round, Kyle Plante was racing against the clock.  Her goal?  To PR at a meet she calls home.  Kyle Plante has been to Indoor States 4 years in a row; three of those years she has won the 300m dash.  The only year she chose not to was 2011, where she ran in the winning relay instead.  It would end up that indeed, Plante would PR by .20 with her win.

Statement: Southern New York had a showdown at Barton, as these familiar faces have run together many times before.  Gallagher got out fast, but was caught behind in third.  She managed to surge with 150 meters to go, and pull away from the pack

Event Info: 2011 Winner: Anima Banks (Mamaroneck) 2:51.75, State Record: 2:48.44, State Qualifier Mark: 3:02.24
Statement: Featuring some of the very best middle distance talent in the nation, the 1000m was the beginning of several showcase events.  Anima Banks of Mamaroneck has always had her kick, but Sachem East's Rachel Paul never let Banks out of her sight.  Many attempts were made to break away, but Banks couldn't manage to shake Paul until 20 meters from the finish line.
