Day one of the Section 1 State Qualifiers were held at Arlington High School in Dutchess County. Early on the wind was over powering but as the meet progressed it seemed to ease up. Great weather is expected across NY State all weekend long.

100 Meter Hurdles - Aeisha McDavid of Ursuline School sailed past the barries for a 14.40 win with Lexus Harney of Mount Vernon on her heels in 14.42. Next was Lauren Voss of Nyack in 14.56. McDavid had the top time out of the prelims (14.58), followed by Harney (14.76)

100 Meter Dash - Impressive top speed helped Winslow Dorsainvil of Spring Valley win in 10.65, trailed by Courtland Cargill of New Rochelle and his 10.76, Michael Blake of Mount Vernon (10.79). Dorsainvil had the top time out of the prelims (10.73)
