The Tom Nohilly Steeple Clinic

March 15th - 4:30-6:30pm at The Armory

all levels and ages

The clinic will focus on all aspects of the technical approach to the Steeple Case including, Active-Isolated flexibility, hip strength drills, hurdle (barrier) drills, water jump drills, and race strategy.

Nohilly graduated from Monsignor McClancey of the CHSAA before competing for the University of Florida.  He qualified for the Olympic trials in 1989 and was the 4th place (first alternate) qualifier in the 1992 and 1996 trials. Nohilly ran 8:16.92 for the 3K steeple, placing 4th at both the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Trials.  He is currently listed as the 5th fastest American to run the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 8:16.2.
Nohilly is an expert in the field of active isolated stretching and works for the Wharton Performance team in NYC.
 
 

The Phil Wharton Dynamic Strength Circuit Clinic

March 22nd - 4:30-6:30pm at The Armory

all levels and ages

The clinic will focus on strength and structural integrity for muscle groups specific to running / track & field events.  Prevention and recovery from common injuries will be addressed.  This training program features dynamic workouts without the necessity of technical equipment.
Phil Wharton is a marathoner (2:23) and co-founder of the Wharton Performance group.  He works with elite athletes and hosts altitude training camps throughout the year.
 
Both clinics will include Jim Wharton and members of the Wharton Performance team.  Admission is free.  Participants will be requested to sign a release for video and photography purposes.
