ITHACA – When Vestal’s Josh Miller moved up to the varsity track meet as an eighth grader he dreamed about the day he could win a state championship.
He just didn’t expect that he would beat the national record holder and a former state record holder to do it. Miller knew he was the underdog. He said so himself. But he also figured he owned the home-court advantage.
“I definitely had a lot going for me,” the Binghamton-bound senior said. “These guys race each other all the time down at the Armory. I race here all the time. I definitely felt like had an advantage.”
