Myasia Jacobs ran faster than she ever has before in the 55 meters Tuesday night. She dominated the race, blew it wide-open straight off the start line.

The Paramus Catholic junior bettered her own nation leader in the 55 in 6.84.  The only person she didn’t impress was herself.

“One-hundredth of a second,” she said shaking her head.

Jacobs improved her personal best by .01 at the Eastern State championships Tuesday at the New Balance Track and Field Center. She had hoped to run 6.7.

“I don’t think I got a good start,” she said. “I wish that more time to practice (with the starting blocks). We have to run two rounds without them and then have to use them in the final. I like to get a feel for my start and for the track.”
