Arlington senior Jordan Yamoah and North Shore junior Samantha Nadel have earned this week’s Armory Athletes of the Week, presented by AT&T, for their respective performances over the weekend.
Yamoah, earning is second AOW honor, broke the state pole vault record for the third time this season. The senior cleared 17 feet, 1 inch at the Stanner Games Saturday. Yamoah then moved the bar to 17-7, attempting to break the national record (17-6.5). He first set the record last month, in his season debut, at 16-6. Yamoah later vaulted 16-7.5 at the Suffern Invitational at Rockland Community College Monday.
