Medgar Evers has no shortage of sprinters. That much is clear. The Cougars proved again Saturday that they can mix and match and still field one of the best relays in the country.

Kimberly Campbell, Kadecia Baird, Sheniece Daphess and Sandrae Fraquaharson clocked 1:39.38 as Medgar Evers won the 4x200 at the Marine Corps Classic, shaving two seconds off their own nation-leading mark, that’s without one of its lead sprinters, Nyanka Moise-Joseph.

“That team is a talented team,” coach Shaun Dietz said. “I’m surprised they ran that fast. I think when I put my best team out there, we’re going to challenge the state record.”
