Beloved statistician, promoter, announcer Scott Davis passes away

Scott Davis, the signature voice for two decades at the Mt. Sac Relays in California, died Wednesday night at his home in Los Angeles after contracting an infection in Moncton at the World Juniors Championships, according to an email sent by the Armory’s Jack Pfeifer to LetsRun.com.

Davis, 67, announced the NCAA Championships and Prefontaine Classic this summer. The track statistician and promoter retired as meet director and announcer of Mt. Sac Relays in 2007. Davis had been a cancer survior dealing with years of chemotherapy dating back to 1997 to treat various forms of cancer, according the email.
