Summary

This one is a barn-burner. Raw scoring, Arlington scores 52 to North Rockland's 53. However, when you look at the merge at Section 1 Coaches, it was North Rockland winning by two points. When it's this close, we have to look at how they ran on the course, and the fact that their compression is tighter, and go with North Rockland. This race could go either way. At Coaches, both Chery (NR) and Ramirez (ARL) had off races. If both of them return to normal, it gets even closer. This one is going to come down which of the squads have athletes with a "perfect" day, which never happens.

Summary

S1 isn't making the predictions easy for us. Only two points separated the top two teams at the Rockland County Champs. That kind of margin can swing with a single position change. But it's Pearl River's compression, more than anything else, that gives them an edge. They had 4 second between their Top 4. That kind of pack doesn't have their score inflate by gaps in the race the same way a team more spread out can be affected. Nanuet has their front runner, but they are awarded the same amount of points whether he wins by one second or one minute. It's going to be all about how high their 5th man can get, and can he displace PR's 5th, or even 4th.

Summary

Of all the boys races, this one is the most distinct. Even then, however, it is still a close competition. Bronxville proved their strength at the Westchester County Champs, but Irvington has the strong Top 3 to match. After that, it's all about closing those gaps, and thats where the Bronco's find their edge.
