About Jaylin Santiago

A former basketball player, Santiago made the transition to track to much acclaim. He won the Indoor State Meet for 300m, and is about to debut that new found speed this weekend at the New York Relays. Fast over 200m and 400m, we catch up with him before hits Randall's Island.

About Carson Gambaro (in his own words)

Born and raised in Upstate NY, I have always been a pretty big fan of sports. I've also always been fond of running. Whether it was chasing my two Doberman Pinschers around the yard or playing manhunt with my friends late at night, the very idea of being fast seemed to awaken a competitive nature within me. I didn't fully relish this concept during my high school years, but ever since I've developed into the track & field nerd I was destined to be. In a nutshell, T&F has taught me invaluable life lessons and inspired me to want to cover it. In May 2022, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting. Over the course of my career I hope to blend my journalism background with my undying passion for the sport and ultimately become a pro commentator. Above all, I hope to constantly learn along the way. When I'm not working for MileSplit, you can find me on the mic at my alma mater (Stillwater High School) during home outdoor meets, or playing trumpet with local cover group Ten Most Wanted.
