The 2022-23 Ocean Breeze Elite High School Series continues this Saturday, January 7 with the 2023 Ocean Breeze Freedom Games. The 2023 Ocean Breeze Freedom Games will have over 5,000 athletes, over 6,700 entries, & schools from ten different states competing in what will be jam-packed day of indoor track & field. 


Girls 

55HH - Ayniah Fersner (Largo) & Jaice Dorsey (Susan Wagner) are the top-two seeded entrants coming into the meet at 8.20 & 8.24, respectively. Dorsey took fifth-place in the hurdles at the 2022 Freedom Games 
55m - Jalyn Hayes-Moore (Bishop McNamara) is seeded at 7.00 looks to chase down the Freedom Games meet record of 7.08, set by former Saint Anthony's Friar &  University of Virginia alum, Halle Hazzard 
1500m Racewalk - Ashlyn Warker (Atlantic County Tech) is seeded at 7:02.00, which would set the new US #1. She is opposed by the current US # 6 time in the racewalk by Samantha Mynio (Washingtonville) 
3000m - The Saratoga Springs twin sisters of Sheridan & McKinley Wheeler look to take down defending Freedom Games 3000m Champion & Staten Island's own Ava Gumb (St. Joseph Hill
300m - Sophia Gorriaran (Moses Brown) enters as the favorite & currently holds the US # 10 time of 39.51. Last month, Gorriaran clocked the sixth-fastest mile in indoor high-school history at the Boston University Season Opener. The current meet record is 38.32, held by current Florida Gator Talitha Diggs 
600m - Sophia Gorriaran (Moses Brown) looks to double in the 300m & 600m at the 2023 Ocean Breeze Freedom Games. Seeded at 1:25.22, she looks to set the new US #1 & Freedom Games meet record 
1600m - Emily Bush (Saratoga Springs) enters the field with the only sub-5 time at 4:53.69 & goes head-to-head with her teammate Alycia Hart, who is seeded at 5:02.00. The meet record was set last year by Lola Dineen (Notre Dame Academy) at 5:02.16 
1000m - Anya Belisle (Saratoga Springs) leads the way coming into the meet seeded as the only sub-three time of 2:59.79 
4x200 - Both seeded at 1:46.00, Harry S. Truman & North Rockland go head-to-head in the 800m meter relay 
4x400 - Henry A. Wise is seeded at 4:05.00. The meet record is 4:02.40, which was set back in 2016 by Lake Braddock 
4x800 - South Lakes is the seeded favorite at 9:30.00. The current US # 1 is 9:27.63, held by Shaker 
Shot Put - Julie Thomas (Commack) looks to repeat as Freedom Games Shot Put Champion. Thomas currently is the US #10 in the shot put at 41-0.25 
Weight Throw - Aviana Rezendes (Classical) also looks to repeat as Freedom Games Weight Throw Champion. Rezendes is currently the US # 5 in the weight throw at 47-1. 

Boys 

55m - Current US # 5 Mykel Morman (Henry A. Wise) leads the field at 6.37. The meet record is held by Mario Heslop with his time of 6.38, set back in 2018 
3200m - Adam Furman (Tri-Valley) is the top-seeded individual at 9:18.85. Furman looks to improve on his seventh-place finish from one-year ago. Troy Silvestri (Bishop Hendricken) returns to the 3200m this year after finishing fourth in 2022 
300m - Josiah Miller (Hammonton) leads the way as the top-seeded individual at 34.50. The current US # 1 time is 34.00 
600mXander Roberts-Bogin (Pleasantville) looks to repeat as Freedom Games 600m champion & hold off top-seeded Farraj Al Amin of Freedom (Woodbridge) 
1600m - The Freedom Games meet record could be in jeopardy here as George Andrus (Haddonfield) is seeded at 4:18.74. The meet record was set by Ken Little (Derby) in 2018 
1000m - Kai Gibson (South Lakes) looks to set the new meet record coming into Saturday seeded at 2:32.01. The meet record is held by Andre DelVecchio (Lake Braddock) at 2:30.62, set back in 2018. Travis Wolfe-Thompson is back in the 1000m this year after taking second-place one year ago at the 2022 Freedom Games 
4x400 - The Henry A. Wise School looks to set the new US #1 seeded at 3:22.00, which would also be the new meet record, which is currently at 3:26.38 
4x800Penncrest looks to repeat as 3200-meter relay champions & improve on their meet record time of 8:26.45 which was set one year ago 
Shot Put Nicholas Frattina (Mount Olive) is the current US #6 in the shot put at 59-2. The meet record is 58-10.25, held by Jack Zimmerman (Briarcliff) set in 2017 
Weight ThrowKeith Daigneau (Bishop Hendricken) holds the current US # 4 mark of 70-9.5. The meet record was set back in 2017 by Thomas Reiser (Minisink Valley) at 69-8.75
