Brooklyn Tech (Engineers)
Last Year's Summary: 14th in Federation, 1st in PSAL
Outlook:
The Engineers have their top two back as Jonah Reisner and Travis Wolfe-Thompson will return from top 10 places in the PSAL, and the team also has two more guys back from the varsity of last year's champs. Only Reisner among the top 7 returners is a senior, and BTech should get a lot of help from last year's JV that swept the top five places in the PSAL JV race.
John Jay Campus (Jaguars)
Last Year's Summary: 7th in PSAL
Outlook: PSAL champ Nathaniel Boutin is back to lead a very senior-heavy team that includes 10th place finisher Lucas Simpson. Whether the Jaguars have enough depth to challenge Brooklyn Tech for the title remains to be seen, but with the top 7 back from last year's team, John Jay should finish way better than 7th this year and head on to the Federation meet.
Hunter (Hawks)
Last Year's Summary: 22nd in Federation, 3rd in PSAL
Outlook: The Hawks lose only top runner Robert Pures from last year's PSAL 3rd place team and have top 20 juniors Shane Murphy and Henry Koike-Sieira back at the top. A challenge to Brooklyn Tech will need some development by younger guys at the back, but Hunter looks very well set to be a major player in the PSAL for the next two years.
Bronx Science (Wolverines)
Last Year's Summary: 5th in PSAL
Outlook: The PSAL 2019 champ Wolverines lost the 1st and 3rd finishers from last year's PSAL Bronx Boro champions along with another key runner as Sean Kerrigan, John Payne, and Daniel Dultsin bid their adieus. The top finisher at the PSAL championship Alden Ritz-Jack is back for his junior season though, and with a group of seniors in support, Bronx Science has a shot at getting one of the top four spots in the PSAL for a visit to the Feds meet.
Susan Wagner (Falcons)
Outlook: Despite placing four guys in the top 13 of last year's PSAL and leading Brooklyn Tech by 20 points after four places, the Falcons just did not have enough depth and lost out on the 6th place tie-breaker to settle the 71-71 score. With Keith Connelly and Michael Rodriguez-King gone from the top quartet, Susan Wagner will have some rebuilding work to do on a team that needs to be filled out. Joseph Perazzo was 2nd in last year's championship and topped the PSAL with a 16th place at Feds, so he will likely be providing a lot of fireworks this season along with fellow senior and 9th-place finisher Fernando Diaz.
