Angelina Napoleon Debuts At NY #7 All-Time In The Steeple

What happens when you combine the Indoor State Meet 1000m Champ, the Indoor State Meet High Jump Runner-Up, and the XC Class C State Champ?

Evidently, a pretty stellar steepler. Angelina Napoleon (Allegany-Limestone) is all that and more, as she opens her Spring campaign with a blistering 6:39.71 in the 2000m Steeple at the Golden Falcon Invite at Falconer HS. It's the fastest ever mark in Country in the month of April, and it's an #7 All-Time performance for New York. It's also a Section 6 Record, as well as the second fastest time run by an athlete north of Section 9, behind Lindsey Ferguson's (Saratoga) 6:36.05.

The second fastest time Nationally since the year 2019, Napoleon has only contested the event once outside prior of a dual meet, and that was a 12th place finish at the Outdoor Nationals in Oregon, where she placed 12th overall. Napoleon is also currently the State's top ranked athlete in the 1500m, with her 4:35.66.  Also an accomplished Pentathlete, Napoleon will have some decisions to make come the Spring State Meet.

Hear from her after Indoor States below.
