New York's Top Class D Teams
Choosing
more than a couple top teams is tough until the season opens up and we
can
see how teams have come together maybe by the time of the Pre-States
meet at Chenango Valley on September 18. There are some huge assumptions
here that teams will have a group of recently inactive runners that
will be returning to close to their 2019 levels or that some track
newcomers will join XC. We have also been a little creative in filling out a team's top five and speed ratings to fill out the list here.
Also note that we are assuming that
Norwood-Norfolk will be competing in Class C as it did in 2019, but if
like in 2018 the Flyers are in Class D, their preseason ranking level will be on
par with maybe Port Jefferson and Arkport.

Composing
a list of contenders in each section is very chancy because some teams
had almost no meets, so there are a lot of teams that will need to fill
out. Only five of the eleven sections have teams that we are confident
will exceed a minimal speed rating level.
