Bryan Ardison121756131

Outlook: The Beavers go for a very likely 18th state championship with Colton Kempney, Cory Demo, and Josiah Evan back from last year's top 10 and Conrad Freed and Hunter Moore set to break in for medals and likely send the States score down to maybe 25 or less. It's been 20 years since the Beavers won a Feds title, and this could be the year they get another party going like in 1999..

Tyler McPherson121575121

Outlook:  The Red Dragons were far off their usual pace at last year's States as they had big issues on the tough Sunken Meadow course. This year's speedway at Plattsburgh should open things up for States medalist Pete Auer and the senior Maple Grove team to fly a lot faster.

Outlook: Delhi's young squad led by States medalists Jonathon Hadley and Diego Aguirre could be a big challenge to Maple Grove for 2nd place. The Bulldogs took their best ever States finish last year with a 3rd place, and maybe this year they go higher.

Notre Dame Batavia (Fighting Irish)

Section 5

States Teams:   2008 D-3rd)

Outlook:  With five of their top 6 back from last year, the Fighting Irish have a a bit of an advantage on Honeoye Central and reigning S5-D champ Oakfield-Alabama. States finalsy Austin Carrick is back in his senior year in a bid to help Notre Dame win its first Sectional title in 11 years.

Kal Lewis1211177
Jonas Kinsey12342136
Domingo Gil11238135
Tyler Galluscio11451127
Nicholas Momisashvili11846109

Outlook:  Kal Lewis is now a senior, and that means he will be going for his third state championship and then maybe setting his eyes on a flight west to Nationals. The Indians don't tend to have much depth, but if they can fill out the squad a bit more they could be looking at taking at least the 4th place spot they got in 2017.

Outlook:  Being stuck in the same S3-D section as Beaver River is not easy, but Sauquoit Valley should be sitting among the top 10 teams in Class D this year.
