Beacon Alum Grabs Massive NCAA-Leading Jump

He went 26-feet while in High School while at Beacon High School. Now at LSU, he went 26-1.5 last spring to take 5th at NCAA's.  And now as a College Junior this winter, Rayvon Grey continues to impress.

In his second outing of the year, Grey put out a new lifetime best of 26-5.25 to capture the NCAA Leading mark, and World #2 for this Indoor Season.  It is believed to be the second best jump Indoors ever accomplished by a New York-born jumper.  Only the Legendary Bob Beamon, who holds the Indoor Graduate Record at 27-2.75, has gone further.

Grey swept the Long Jump State Titles in his senior year, as well as the Indoor/Outdoor National Titles.  He won the NY Gatorade for his efforts, only to be beaten for the National Award by future Bowerman recipient Michael Norman.
