Consider this to be the highlight of the relays. On paper, you have Notre Dame Academy with the US #2 performance of 9:30.73 being the favorites. However, enter Ward Melville, who will make their competitive debut at the event this year. They return the entirety of a relay that went 9:01 last year, and are prospected to be one of the top teams in the country in the event this year. Also included is Ridge, NJ, who won Indoor Nationals last year at 9:01. They bring back two athletes from that relay, and could very easily reload. South Lakes, VA went 9:20 last indoor season, and could reload again too.
The National Leader stands at 9:20. Could that go down? Stay tuned.
