NY Cross Country Weekly Highlights

There were a lot of meets throughout the state this week, from county champs in Section 1 and Section 9, to the conference champs in Section 2, and league meets scattered around the state. Results are in on most of these meets but highlights will be posted throughout the weekend.

Farrell wins the NYCHSAA title

Bsihop Kearny girls over St. Francis Prep for the girls BQCHSAA title 66-68.

Bishop Ford boys win BQCHSAA crown.

AIS -

Section 1 - Ursuline girls upset the Bronxville girls at the Westchester County Champs at VCP. Scarsdale boys win with strong team effort.

At the Rockland County Champs, the Pearl River girls and North Rockland boys take the team titles at Bear Mt. Shelby Greany (Suffern) and Mike Hickey (Pearl River) with again. It was Greany's 5th straight title and Hickey's 3rd making them both the only athletes to accomplish those feats ever. (Correction - Pearl River's Brenden Fennel also won 3 straight Rockland County title. Fennel went on to a greta career ar American University)

NORTHERN COUNTY CHAMPS - Arlington boys and girls sweep team titles and individual crowns. FULL RESULTS HERE

Westchester County Championships - Rockland County Championships

Section 2 - Numerous meets were held all week long. Greenwich girls and Schuylerville boys win the Wasaren League Championship. The big meet was the Suburban Council Champs where Burnt Hills beat Saratoga girls 38-41 with Shen 3rd.  Lizzie Predmore runs crazy, break 17 with 16:58 effort. Sec. 2 Suburban Council Champs

Sec. 2 Wasaren League Champs - Sec. 2 Adirondack League Champs - Sec. 2 Big 10 Championships - Sec. 2 Colonial Council Championships -Sec 2. WAC Champs - Sec. 2 Foothills Council Champs

Section 3 - OHSL Champs - Chris Stogsdill (pictured right by Tullyrunners.com) wins another race but Tully edges Marcellus 93-104. Tully girls win as well, 49-99 over Pulaski even though Katie Weisenburger wins in 19:26.

NATIONAL CHAMPS - Liverpool boys and girls win title in close meets.

AMERICAN CHAMPS - Fayetteville Manlius girls look REDICULOUSLY GOOD with a 15 point win, cruising for the win.

Sec. 3 OHSL Champs - CNYCL National Div. Champs -CNYCL American Div. Champs - Frontier League Championships

Section 4 - Newark Valley and Maine-Endwell finish 1-2 in the boys and girls races at the Newark Valley Invitational.

Section 5 - HFL wins boys and girls Livingston County titles. Livingston County Champs
Section 6 - Sec 6 CCIAA Championships - Gowanda boys over Fredonia 44-62 as Jamestown's Savantuay Boyette wins in 16:26. Fredonia girls over Jamestown 61-67. Individual crown goes to Jamestown's Erin Kling in 18:57 as she wins by almost 40 seconds.

Section 8 -

Section 9 - At Bear Mt. on Friday, Aisling Cuffe (Cornwall) running 17:17 for the win at the Orange County Championships. Cuffe's time ranks her 5th best ever on the storied course.

The Cornwall girls won the team title. Washingtonville boys top Warwick Valley 57-58 in a classic battle. Warwick beats them up front but their back end wasn't enough as the Wizards packed them in.

At The MHAL Champs, the Rhinebeck girls sweep the top three places to win the crown going away.
Orange County Champs (OCIAA) - MHAL Champs

Section 10 - Matt Pierce wins big for HC William HS but Norwood-Norfolk is too tough as they win with 58 points. HC William girls sweep top three places and win the team title 32-48 over Norwood-Norfolk. Sec. 10 Interdivisional

Section 11 - Northport girls over Bay Shore in the divisionals merge. Shoreham Wading River wins big for the boys. Bobby Andrews (SWR) comes close to the magical 16 minute barrier with 16:06 winning by 44 seconds.
