Top Ten Things To Look Out For At This Weekend's Bishop Loughlin Games

Boys Field

Two field events stand out from the rest.  The Shot Put will see two athletes fighting for the sixty foot barrier.  Both from New Jersey, Andrew Huisman (St. Rose) has hit 55-8.5 indoors as a junior.  As a senior, it's time to step up.  For Mike Nash (Hereford), that mark was a little bit closer outdoors, as he hit 58-3 last May.

And then there is the Long Jump.  John Owens (W Windsor Plainsboro - North) leads the field at 23-8.  Last year's champion Rayvon Grey (Beacon, now LSU) came into the season with a similar PR.  Can we see the same kind of progression?  Mike Troup (Lawrenceville School) is the next athlete to make an impact, carrying with him a 22-8 personal best.  Rounding out the field is the top New Yorker, as Mike Matrangolo (St. Joe's by the Sea) is the only other over 22-ft.
