Girls Class A Team
State of the Action: Mark it eleven straight. Fayetteville-Manlius has won the state title every year since 2007. They've been essentially recession proof, continuing their streak through varying running booms, talent surges, and graduations. Their winning score of 35 points is the second highest ever for the Hornet, behind only their first ever title. That stat is more a reflection of the increase in individual talent level over the years than it is anything else. No team, boy or girl, besides Watkins Glen, won with a point title under 50 points, and Manlius managed to do so in the most competitive state meet in the country. Behind them, North Rockland provided the race of their season. Saratoga was nursing some injuries and resting some runners, but North Rockland powered past none the same. Their 4-5 picked up in performance to push them to second overall in the merge, proving they are ready for the bigger meets down the line. These next two weeks are about to get interesting. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
