State of the Action: For Kelly Brown, it wasn't necessary to go seeking the big talent of NYC during the season. He was slowly gaining momentum just fine upstate, putting in State Leading times in both the open 55m, as well as over the hurdles. Relaxing over the line in the trials, Brown hammered in the semi's, matching his season best of 6.40. For the finals, there was no playing around. The gun went off, and immediately it was clear that Brown had one of the slowest starts in the field. Kyree Johnson had bolted off two lines right of Brown, and he had some work to do. second by second he closed the gap, all before a final dip at the line, too close to call by the naked eye. Brown had done it, and came away with a State Title.
