Not only do you have three ladies from the Hurdle Final at last year's State Meet, with Paula Salmon (Clara Barton), Alyssa Sandy (Paul Robeson), and Alyssa Yeboah-Kodie (St. Anthony's) highlighting the field, you can also throw in two more from the Top 7 in 2016, with Shayla Broughton (Medgar Evers) and Isis Welch (Frederick Douglas). Throw in Gabby Schreib (Kellenberg) and Alexis Postell (Bullis, MD), and you have a loaded field.

What a way to kick off the meet. The top two at the State Meet in 2015, Lanae Tava-Thomas (Rush-Henrietta) and Halle Hazzard (St. Anthony's) are looking to face off on the straightaway. We know both are in shape, as Tava-Thomas unleased a killer Long Jump, and Hazzard is the current State Leader in the event. NY #2 in Sukanya Wade (Robeson) finds herself in the mix, with Victoria St. John (Holy Trinity) and Sheila Day (Norristown) are also right there.

The PSAL battle wages on. D'Jai Baker (Cardozo) leads the field, but Amanda Crawford (Robeson) was a force over the distance sprints indoors and out. Dnia Freeman (Riverdale Baptist, NJ) is also looking to break up the top New York sprint dominance. And what's this? Sammy Watson (Rush-Henrietta), the Outdoor 400m State Champ, is entered in a slower heat. Could she upset the field before they even run? Both Bullis, MD and Columbia, NJ have top entrants looking to make a splash as well. This event is loaded.

NY #2 Paris Peoples (Cardozo) is looking to highlight a very competitive field. She may not even be the favorite, as Brooklyn Broadwater (Springside, PA) racked up very notable wins at the Armory in 2015. Shari Rauls (Mamaroneck) also looks to be very competitive in the seeded section. Kristina Cherrington (Uniondale) looks to round out the top challengers.
