The New York Federations meet, set for Saturday November 17th at Bowdoin Park, Wappingers Falls, NY, is no longer the qualifying meet for New York teams to the Nike Team Nationals (NTN). Sources tell MileSplit.US that because of potential questions from the The New York State Public High School Athletic Association, the qualifying meet for the 4th Nike Team Nationals will now be held in conjunction with the Northeast NTN qualifying meet on the following Saturday, November 24 at the same venue. The move was made, according to the source, "to maintain the integrity of the by-laws and the guidelines of the state association." The New York and Northeast championship races will be separate. Registration will be through the Northeast NTN site (NY registration not yet available), and every effort will be made to accommodate teams who wish to enter the championships races. Payment must be received for an entry to be considered. The meet is being held on the same day as the Foot Locker Northeast Regional, set for Van Cortlandt Park. The scheduling will force some teams with strong individuals and potential-NTN teams to choose between the meets.
