Girls 800m |
State of the Action: Around the first bend, all the finish line could see was a large pack of athletes, with hands flying into the air as if they were doing jumping-jacks in the back. Those hands belonged to Catherine Pagano, national leader in the 1000m. Suffering from a slow start, she was getting caught up on the competition in front of her. She made her move at 300m, and surged to meet Jessica Drop, who wasn't going to give the lead up early. The pair accelerated through a lap, and Pagano would pull away to win, despite not getting the fast mark she was more than capable of. |

State of the Action: With the top seed missing, Epiphany Grisbaum had to make her move early. 400m into the race, she separated from the field, and continued to lead from afar.
