On December 27,2008 The Girls 4x200 Meter Relay team qualified the team into the marine corps 4x200 meter relay final with a time of 1:45.77. The two seniors of the team Jewel moore and jonathan alexis and the junior janice jackson were champions at the brooklyn borough championship jewel moore and jonathan alexis won the long jump and jewel moore also came third in her 55 meter dash and jonathan alexis came second in the boys high jump and janice jackson won the 55 meter hurdles

About Our Team

Medgar Evers College Preparatory School, formally known as Middle College High School is one of the Best sprint schools in New York City. Although our team is relatively young, starting in 2003, we have some of the most notable performances in New York for the past 5 years. In 2004 we came on the map with four girls in the finals of the PSAL City Championships in the 100m dash, and winning the 4 x 200m relay. At the Start Championships we place 2nd to Hempstead High School from Long Island. By 2005 there was no stopping us. We dominated the short sprints, the 4 x 200m relay indoor and the 4 x 100m relay outdoor. We won EVERY PSAL City Championships in the 55m dash and 100m dash from 2005 to 2007. On the national level our school was very successful, we placed 2nd in the 2005 High School Indoor National Scholastic Championships in the 4 x 200m relay with a time of 1.38.7(second on the all time state list). In the Nike Outdoor High School Championships we became NATIONAL CHAMPIONS IN THE 4 X 100M RELAYS.

Some of our notable Alumni are:

Chianne Ashman, part of our national champion team is 2005 and a top 55m and 100m specialist from 2003 to 2005
Analisa Austin, national champion in the 4 x 100m relay, ran 11.82 in the 100m dash(placing 2nd at the state championships in 2007). Analisa also ran 6.99FAT in the 55m which is tied of 2nd on the alltime PSAL list.
Idara Otu, part of our 4 x 200m relay team that placed 2nd at nationals, a 400m dash, 400m hurdles, and 600m dash specialist. Idara was also our school Valedictorian in 2005 with a 97 average. She currently attends Stanford University.
Deiddra Rogers, part of our 4 x 200m relay and our 4 x 100m relay national championship teams. Deiddra won the PSAL City Championships in the 100m dash for three straight years. She has the fastest 100m dash time every recorded in PSAL (11.72) and one of the fastest 200m time(23.9). In 2007, Deiddra won both the 100m dash and the 200m dash at the Brooklyn borough championships, the PSAL City Championships, and the New York State Championship. Deiddra and her teammate Analisa Austin are two of the most consistant sprinters in the last ten years in new york state.
KerryAnn Stewart, part of our 4 x 200m relay and 4 x 100m relay championship teams. 100m, 200m, 300m and long jump specialist. Kerryann was one of the major players in our school notoriety.

Other notable athletes from our school includes Roje Robinson(long and triple jump specialist, PSAL champion, ranked top 6th in the nation. Winston Whittingham, school record holder in the 300m and 400m. Kevon Jackson, school record holder in the 100m dash(10.9). Simonie Moore, 400m and relay specialist. Jewel Moore, long jump and relay specialist. Jonathan Alexis 2008 Indoor Borough Champion,Third place finisher at the indoor city championships, relay specialist.
