Fordham Prep sweeps indoor & outdoor CHSAA Champs
NEW YORK – Wayne Seaton didn’t celebrate much after his wins in the 110 and 400 hurdles. He didn’t celebrate much after his Fordham Prep team handled the CHSAA for the city championship at Ichan Stadium at Randalls Island.

Wayne Seaton said he was hoping. He hoped that every time he tore through another step on the track and Sheepshead Bay’s anchor leg would draw nearer. The Fordham Prep senior hoped with each step until he closed even with his team’s rival and barreled across the finish line. -

NEW YORK – When Michael Jennings split the tape at the finish line at Madison Square Garden he cemented his team in history at Fordham Prep. The history is built on tradition, a tradition that had the Garden sounding like a college basketball game during the CHSAA 4x800 relay.

Fordham Prep wins NYCHSAA title
Fordham's Wayne Seaton wins 55HH and 300, both in school record times of 7.4 and 35.4. Fordham jumped out to a big lead in the team scoring early on and held off Monsignor Farrell 94-61. Farrell's Alex Orlanddo won the 1600-3200 double with times of 4:29 and 9:45.

Coaches Corner: Fordham Prep's George Febles
George Febles has been the coach at Fordham Prep for 21 years. He's guided the Rams to 3 indoor CHSAA championsihips and 4 outdoor CHSAA titles. He's helped the Rams to three indoor national champion relays and five Millrose 4x800 champs. Even, his father, George, Sr., coached a Fordham Prep relay that set the national Catholic School record in the 4-man shuttle hurdle relay at the Stanner Games this season.

Farrell’s James Farley took the baton. His strides were decisive and aggressive but somehow still smooth and methodical. Fordham Prep’s Carlos Petrovich had 40 meters on him and it was down to the anchor leg of the CHSAA boys 4x800 at the Millrose Games Trials.

Marco Bertolotti spread his arms wide when the crossed he finish line. It was a meek celebration for a spectacular victory. The Port Washington junior could have just as easily been spreading his arms to hug the first person that would have him.
