25 | McKee Staten Island Tech | PSAL | 154.6 | 3rd at Regis | Trimmer, Aziz, Viruel |
Rationale: | Many teams have not run yet and some have fallen back from preseason projections because a lot of watch-list schools blasted out to big times last weekend. Rush-Henrietta gets basically a pass for running at Bristol Mountain, and CNS was missing a key runner at VVS-1, so we'll wait to see how Northstars run in future meets.
Kyle's Comments: | While Fay-Man remains the great unknown (as in how successful they have been in cultivating a clear 5th man) Northport has shot to the top from the watchlists. They've managed to translate track speed well, but it is still to be seen how long they maintain Long Island's brightest, as St. Anthony's is still in the thick of things. |

20 | North Shore | 8 | 145.2 | Ran in Bruce McDonald | Kapuscinski, Laderer, Michalak |
Rationale: | Things are just getting going in Class B, and there are a lot of unknowns at the top.
Kyle's Comments: | An interesting situation for Class B, where two of the states top runners overall, Manahan and Hornberger, look to prevent any of the teams to gain the coveted 1-point at the state meet. However, Class B is looking to be an upstate affair, and it will be interesting to see how it pans out. |

20 | Southwestern | 6 | 129.8 | 5th in Maple Grove Red Dragon | Hetrick |
Rationale: | Many inactives or partial squad action up to this point. The murky state of affairs for Class C is starting to clear up though.
Kyle's Comments: | Collegiate had a solid showing at the Guilderland Invite, and their efforts have been rewarded. Between Tim Buckley and Marco Pompilj, they have a solid squad that has put them into the overall top ten. |

10t. | Haldane | 1 | 119.6 | 15th in Suffern-A | Hughes, Valentine |
Rationale: | The expected battle at the top has already emerged in the battle for States spots among the teams from sections 3, 5 and 6.
Kyle's Comments: | A close battle as expected, and will most likely prove sectionals to be the biggest battle for some of the teams. |
