The Goldbacks Distance Classic - Run for the Arts was held on May 7, 2009 at Newburgh Free Academy. The distance events only meet featured live entertainment during the races.

Money raised from the event will fund scholarships that will be awarded to Newburgh track or cross country graduating seniors that were involved in the Visual or Performing Arts while at NFA.
